In todays fast moving world the  challenge  is to integrate data capture technologies with a leaner more agile approach to project delivery so that risk and uncertainty is effectively managed to the benefit  of both the client and delivery partners.

It is clear that we cannot continue in the same way as we have for the last 30 years. We need better ways of working to deliver complex capital programmes. In the UK we see Project 13 advocating greater collaboration. In the US and Canada IPD is gaining traction with early contractor involvement and a clear contract structure focussed on risk sharing at the core of the arrangement.

But this is not enough. Behaviour and culture are central to successful collaboration. We are entering a new era where the interaction of people and data will spur greater innovation, creativity and productivity where resilience and sustainability will be at the core of the value proposition.
